Seventh Principle

The Seventh Spiritual Principle is the Principle of Purpose in Life. All of us know on some level that we are here for a reason. And many of us have struggled with ourselves from time to time about WHAT we are SUPPOSE to be DOING. Purpose in life is not about doing. It is about BEING. We are spiritual beings; we are not human beings; we are spirits BEING human.

Every human has a talent or gift that they were meant to share. Yes, you, me, we, all of us have a unique gift or talent that we were meant to share. It is different from anyone else’s. And (I believe) it is the reason that we are here. This principle is so simple, yet so profound, it amazes me.

I am taking the Science of Energy Healing Mentoring Program with gia combs ramirez. For the past several weeks we have been exploring and advancing using our Unique Wisdom. Our Unique Wisdom is the place that holds our gifts and wisdom come. And I have been finding myself moving into this place of what is it that I have to share, to offer, from my core … not from my head. It comes from my very Being-ness. When I stop the chatter in my head, when I come to a place of peace within myself, my Unique Wisdom opens and unfolds like a flower and the nectar pours out. This is not something I have – it is something each and everyone of us has. And what I know from personal experience is that I can’t go hunting for it, digging inside of my head or gut or even heart trying to find it. What I know is that I have to breathe and allow it to simply flow.

We live in a world of hustle and bustle and rushing and fast talking and fast moving, high speed internet and even higher speed, faster cars, faster boats and planes. What I know is that we need to take the time for ourselves and for each other. I am not alone and neither are you. We are all connected to each other like branches on a tree. What happens to one of us affects all of us. There is no avoiding it. When a hurricane hits on the other side of the world, we all feel it.

When we give from our heart to one person – everyone feels it – whether or not they are consciously aware of it. So as we express our Unique Wisdom and talents, we are inadvertently (isn’t that a lovely inadvertent?) encouraging others to do the same. That talent, while shared with others, is a gift for ourselves. By NOT sharing we are limiting and constricting ourselves. As we share we open, blossom and grow.

And yet, this is not about figuring out “what’s in it for me?” It’s about giving and sharing unselfishly and with integrity. As I ask, “How can I serve?” there is a shift in the Universe and abundance flows effortlessly to the asker.

And what is your purpose in life? To do just what you are doing at this moment – typing on the computer, washing the dishes, sitting in a meeting, scrubbing the toilets, changing diapers, etc. Whatever you are doing at this moment, do with your whole heart, your whole presence, and with love. And all will be perfect. That’s it.
